I have a group of online friends that I've had for the past 9 years or so. We met each other on a message board that long ago dissolved, so we started an email loop. We all have at least one child the same age. I have met in person a couple of them, but I'd love to meet them all one day. As much as we talk I feel like I know them all already, even the ones I haven't met yet. We've gone through alot together. Pregnancies, Miscarriages, Death in the Family, Trouble at School, Divorce, Remarriage you name it. We exchange Christmas cards every year, usually with a family photo. How about you, have you met people in real life that you first met online?

I have met several people that I first met online in real life. Several are still my best friends to this day. And one I married ;) Lets see...I first started meeting people back in 1998 and still keep meeting them. I couldn't tell you the numbers I have met. But there are a few that I actually have daily contact with...like my husband and one of my best friends that just lives up the road.

I did. We even organised a gathering which were attended by people from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei. That was like a few years back. Now I no longer belong to that group, but very much still in contact with some of them. Another group that I'm involved in also organised gatherings. This online communities comprises of Singaporean and Malaysian Malay communitiss that stay or work overseas. When this people came home or the local travel, they tends to meet each other. It very amazing though through forum and chatting, we realised that there are 6 degree relationship among us. Some of us had been good friends now.

Well yeah unfortunately- I met and married the jerk! :( LOL. But yes I have met a couple of my long time email-pals and it's always nice to be able to have the in person contact with someone that you've shared so much with.
