Should World Cup be restricted to eight teams rather than sixteen teams?

Lots of players are complaining that minors should not play World Cup cricket. Also, players of Australia are asking for less number of games in the World Cup. Should the World Cup cricket be restricted among eight teams like Championship trophy and only the best eight teams should play?
The sports like football contains 32 teams in the World Cup and yet they are not complaining of too much games or too much team. I personally feels that all teams should play during the World cup ie 16 team format. Bangladesh and Ireland has reached the super eight since they played better cricket. So minors also should give chance to play cricket.

lost world cup was too long. b/c of lot of teams participated in the world cup. there should be 12 teams and 2 groups n the wc. 2003 and 1999 wc was great b/c the tast of wining wasa there and every body had watch that world cups with great inerest.

I think it should not be done, all the nations who wish to pqarticipate should be allowed and given a chance. Remember even tortoise had won the race. I don't know what wrong with australian team but these days they have been acting all high and mighty. Their attitude off the field has been very rude with pushing sharad pawar on the stage and other minor incidents too. Its a game and everyone shouyld get a shot at it and see how wellIreland has played and even Bangaladesh too. They may be playing for the first time but they have played well.

I also think Australia are very rue in the field. I think they think they are very superior than any other nations. I do not like the way Ricky Pointing stated that there should be less team to play cricket and minors should not play in the World Cup. Look in games like football there are more teams playing in the World Cup than cricket and the superior teams are complaining of too much. It would be bore to watch same team play again and again agaist each other. I always believe cricket should be globilized than restricted among eight teams.
