Why do you like/ not like anime?

I enjoy anime for it's variety and depth. Unlike a lot of american cartoons, anime can be a lot episodic and actually carry one complex story arch over an entire season. This makes the story telling style a bit slower but it can also make it a lot more interesting. As for variety, I love how there are so many different genres of anime. Some is quite serious and for adults, while others are just kinda wacky and fun. Anime also has a unique style to it. I think that the way that it's drawn is really art a lot of times and not that many american cartoons take the time to focus on the details. I mean, there are some animes that I've decided to watch just because they are so visually striking. Anime also has a different dramatic element to it. My sister thinks that the elevated drama is too much, but I actually like it. I also like the strange style elements like super-deformed and such. Anime proves that animation is still a viable art form to create new and exciting peices of art that everyone can enjoy. It's not just for children and can continue to break new grounds.

I have friends that are forty or older that love anime. I'm twenty-six myself, and people are always suprised to hear that I like anime because I'm married and have a child. They think anime is just for kids or nerdy college students. =p On the other end of the spectrum, there are the people who only think of anime as hentai, which is also frustrating. There are a lot of good animes for and about adults that tell interesting stories and aren't hentai at all. I've found that the best way to get others to understand your love for anime is to show them some good anime. I have a couple of friends who never understood the appeal until I invited them over and showed them some anime... and now they're fans too.

Yes , I am a fun of anime. But I don't watch all anime. I think I am a bit old to watch anime and some are not of my interest that is why. I used to watch old animes over and over like Voltes V, Daimos, Mazinger Z, Voltorn, Transformer and the like. They don't bore me at all. I feel like I am young again when i watch these anime. I'm 31 and I can't stop watching!

I don't know, actually... but whenever I watch anime I feel relieved from stress and I feel more energized to do homework, lol I have liked cartoons as a snot-nosed kid and anime is like a more mature and complex version of cartoons and has a lot more depth, though I never want to compare the two...

i like anime. and i think, it is more good if adult will watch it to. cause we can understand easily the story. unlike kids, i think they are only interested about the graphics and characters. we can still think of social issue while watching anime. i think its not a bad thing.

I am brand new to anime. I recently discovered it and Have found that I really love it!
