how HONEST are YOU, what would you do in this situation??????

back when i used to operate my tree service i used to have a lot of money. i was in the bank a lot with multiple checks to cash. i would deposit some and cash some. one day i cashed a $900.00 check in a womans line i had never been in before. i new the people in the bank quite well. any way i counted my money and left the bank, we were on the south hill in puyallup washington. we went to the target store to do some shopping, and when i went to pay i noticed that the hundred dollar bill i had in my had felt strange, i twisted on it and then i had two, they were stuck together. i thought about what the girls at the bank would tell me about short counts on their tills, that it comes out of you check. it was only 4:00 pm so with my friend hollering keep it, i went back in the bank. i waited in line then walked over to the woman, gave her the bill and told her what happened, she disappeared. i thought well i should have kept that, then one of the tellers i knew came up to me and thanked me very well, said she could not believe i had done it. the feeling i had was worth giving the bill back. now if i found a suitcase full of money i would probably have to keep it. where is your honesty level??????

You did the right thing. She would have had to pay it herself or whatever policy they had with the bank. I'm sure she would of figured it out when she did her balancing of cash at the end of the day, however for her not to thank you is rude!! Shes lucky you had an honest heart and was kind enough to return it. Others would not have bothered.

yes, had i known what her response was to be ahead of time i might have kept it, but i would have bothered me.

Great Kkerix. You're deserved a medal for being so honest. If I was in your place, yes, I would have returned the bill. And if it is for a suitcase. I think I do the same. It's even more scary because it is a great sum of money. So I'll do the same in both situation. Have a nice day! (^^,)
