How can we make Religion and science come together to benefit society?

In the west,many scientists r deeply religious man,some even priests.in east science is an integral part of religion.
most religion promote hygene,education and betterment of humanity. while science work to eradicate diseases, improve living conditions and make life a easier.
both have da same goals.
How can we then bring the three together and save humanity?

True religions and science are supposed to blend harmoniously. God enjoins us to seek knowledge, which science symbolizes. Any scientific invention which runs contrary to religion symptomises either a faulty invention or a fake religion or religious prophesy. God is perfect.

I am catholic and I have gone to church every sunday since I can remember. However in todays world with all the new scientific discoveries it becomes harder to believe all the stories of the bible. I think that instead of looking at religion as a explanation, it should be used as a guide line.
When religion was first developed in the beginning of time there were two reasons. The first was to explain what early man saw around him and second was to build love and respect for each other. In todays world science can take over for the explainations, but religion should still guide our moral values.
