don't you think taj mahal is slowly destroying

don't you think taj mahal is slowly destroying by the atmospheric pollutants around it... what do u think the solution for that cause...

Yes you are right Taj Mahal is slowly getting destroyed by the air pollution near the monument.The air pollution is mainly due to the induastries in Agra city and also because of the emissions of the vehicles. There is a corrosive action of these emissions on the surface of Taj Mahal.The marble surface of the Taj Mahal is harmed by the sulfur emitted by the induastries.The effect of this can be seen in the form of marble getting discolored .Though the surface of Taj Mahal is cleaned with a resin compund once in about two years but still the effect of pollution can be seen.There are steps taken by Indian government to free Agra and the near by locality from these sources of pollution .

probably the only solution is to divert traffic away from it.i think the vibration and car pollutants are what is damaging the world's monuments.i'm pretty sure rome has that problem also.
