but why would you send someone to jail for not paying money then have to spend money just to feed and cloth him while he's in your custody?

thats why there is over crowding in prisons now, because people just want to send anybody to jail. they should only make him pay a heavy fine, and community service.

I don't know the details of the story but in general I don't know why a person would go to jail for tax evasion. I would think financial restitution, with a fine, would be sufficient. I am no expert, though.

i agree, being though they have to spend money anyway just to care for prisoners, doesn't make sense to me
