How do you wrap your presents?

I find that different countries have different ways of tackling present wrapping. Where I come from, it seems like it's enough to just wrap it with regular present paper with no frills. Maybe just a small card so the person receiving the present knows it's from you. But here in the States, it seems like everyone like to do it with lovely bags, coloured tissue, ribbons, the works!!! So much so to the point that some wrappings costs almost as much as the gift!! So, how do you do your wrapping? Do you go all out?

I live in America. Yes I do go all out when it comes to wrapping a present. I like to use gift bags. They make it alot easier.
