sort of a chain letter

I have rec'd a 3 page letter in the mail yesterday saying to send a dollar to 7 people on this list make 200 copies of these letters call and get mailig labels from this company and send these letters out with my name now being in the 7th spot. Has anyone ever heard of these letters before or done it? Your supposed to get around 800k back from it hell even it was $500 it would be worth doing. I'm thinking of contacting the names on the paper just to see what they have to say. If anyone has done this before let me know if its a scam or not.

the famous paypal chain letter, Well if you have enough time to post it on 200 websites and send an emial to 100000 people then go ahead because the cahnces geting someone who acutall ypays the amount is slim most ppl just copy the letter dont pay anyone and cahnge the names

There were 7 names.
1. send letter to 200
2. those 200 send it to 200 there are 40 000
3. 40 000 * 200 = 8 000 000
4. 8 000 000 * 200 = 1 600 000 000
5. 1 600 000 000 * 200 = 320 000 000 000
6. 320 000 000 000 * 200 = 64 000 000 000 000
Okay every person doesn't forward letter, but you get the idea. Someone could probably get rich, it's not impossible, but there are limited amount of humans in world. So everybody can't get rich and amount of people who has been involved this is raising very fast.
Anyway this surely can work, but more likely not.
