I don't know about any of you, but I love to read and collect quotes that mean something to me. I found one just this morning that I thought I would share with you all. Here's the quotation: "It's the same each time with progress. First they ignore you, then they say you're mad, then dangerous, then there's a pause and then you can't find anyone who disagrees with you." As said by Tony Benn. Source quotationpage.com. This quote speaks to the Hippy in me. At first the Hippy philosophy/counterculture was largely ignored by mainstream society and thought to have only included a small group of people. Then, as more and more people "turned" hippy and we gained more and more attention, people wrote us off as "mad" and troublemakers. Once the anti-war rallies and sit-ins took off, we were dubbed dangerous. And now, with the latest war controversy and the focus on global warming/environmental conciousness, people are joining the bandwagon that we Hippies pioneered decades ago. Go figure! What does the quote mean to you (if anything at all)?
