Iran wants to cut internet cost

Iran's Minister of Communications and Information Technology Ahmad Mo'tamedi has said that during the country's third development plan (2000-2005) 1000 to 1500 billion Rials have been invested by government in the field of information technology. Speaking at the closing ceremony of the 10th international electronic, computer and electronic commerce exhibition, Mo'tamedi said communication infrastructures plans are reaching to final stages and fiber optic network project is almost complete. Mo'tamedi said the cost of using internet is still high and it should be reduced up to 50 percent before the new year (March 21).
