I'm seeing stars!!
I'm new here, so please excuse my child-like curiosity.
What are the stars I see above the members pictures?
And what do the numbers in them mean?
And this not being able to paste until I have 500 posts.....does that 500 include my comments to others' post or not?
Aside from signing up and having a profile, is there anything else a person needs to do to be eligible for the earnings they offer?
I know these questions have probably been asked a thousand times and you *old timers* are sitting there shaking your heads at yet another newbie with their 20 questions. But... if I don't ask, how will I learn?
Have any of you experienced mylot users had to lock yourself in the bathroom yet,just to get some peace and quite on this sight and to hide from naive new users like me?
Well, if you see fingers poking under the door while you're hiding, it's probably me...;)

LOL, cute question! After 100 posts you will be given a star to indicate the the value of the posts and responses you have given.
It can change depending on how others rate your responses.
I was amazed to earn more than 30 cents here in my first day....this in NOT the way I earn a living, but has become addictive. Besides, I get to network with others who share my ideas, etc!

I signed up hours ago and am still looking around.
It doesn't seem like a big money maker, but I do enjoy reading the discussions.

Donot worry, every one is new, when he joins mylot. So it is but natural that questions regarding sites, stars, moons, numbers, ranking, best answers, discussions, today's top discussions etc. will keep coming into your mind. To simply answer your question... you will get the star when you submit atlest '100' posts or attain '100' marks, then only a star will reflect against your name. Star has ranking ranging from 1 to 10. The ranking is given by mylot, as per the repution of the members. Higher the ranking, greater the reputation of the member. So keep replying to discussions, keep starting new discusisons, give your comments on the reply received, gradually you will reach '100' mark figure and will surely get a star. Thanks for the answers.
I read all the links that mylot has about this sight and read all the FAQ's too, but they don't really do justice to the sight.
Or, it could be I'm a critical thinker and need more detailed answers, hence this discussion.
So???
What if someone, for whatever reason, doesn't take a liken to me, personally....can they use that - sign to bring my ratings down?
And if something like that happens, a personal vendetta type of thing, how do you control it or stop the negative responses from hurting your ratings?

You mentioned *moons* dpk26006......I haven't seen any as of yet. Could it because it does nothing but rain here in Oregon?...lol

Welcome to mylot community.
I know you are only 12 hours old now in mylot and are curious about the twinkle twinkle star, right? LOL
I think the best way for you to grap and undertand the star here is to start now to post as many as possible quality discussions and quality responses to other members discussions so to total up your posting to (100) that's you need only 88 post to reach the goal.
The moment you achieve (100) posts, a colour star will pop up beside your name. The colour and the number within it represent the rating of the members upon your post of writting.
Just make it happen as soon as possible.

So, why is so important to get 100 post as soon as possible?
Is that the goal you need to meet in order to start earning?
And what color do I get when I get to 100?

you will get your star once you reach 100 posts.the highest rating is 10.people will rate you according to how you do your responses.avoid just doing one line responses and discussions.people will give you negative rating and your post might get deleted as well.if you receives a lot of negative rating your star value will drop.if you wanna earn more make sure your responses are at least 11-20 sentences.you are also get paid for uploading images.but there is a daily limit which you can upload images.you can earn from your referrals too.try to edvertise your link in other forums to get referrals.
