whats the best thing about the philippines?

the people, the interior depth of the country, the pollution.. nearly everything that makes up the beauty of philippines is not easily detected at first sight. not even by second, or by third. this requires engagement, experience, hands-on relationships, time, investment... because the beauty of our country is that which we choose to appreciate in spite of the hideous faces and facades that can easily trap our perceptions--poverty,pollution,corruption,crimes. i suppose that's the best thing about our country. the hidden, often needed effort in order to truly appreciate the beauty it has to offer.

well the best thing in the philippines i think would be the PEOPLE and most especially the FOOD. well in one way or another the people here in the philippines are very warm and really hospitable. and no one i mean not one could deny that. most provinces here in the philippines treat new comers or foreigners like kings and queen. and the food here in the philippines is very heart warming most of all the Kare-kare. wow i can't explain the feeling when i am eating that dish. and also the mighty adobo which almost served us as a national dish.

maybe except for the cities, most of the parts of the philippines is very relaxing. from the beaches to the beautiful sceneries you see along the countryside, its really a great place to be in.

The best thing about phils is the hospitality of the people and their happy nature they always find reason to laugh even if they experiencing hard life.

Traffic, squatters, poverty and many more hastles in the Philipppines. Still, I want to grow old here but of course after working abroad and when I reached my dreams. Philippines, for me is the most lovable place after all because it where I grew and it where I developed my being pinoy, my character of being strong despite of many difficulties.

The Philippines has a good natural resources as well as human resources and that's why we even export manpower. We have also good climate for even if it's hot during summer, we can remedy the heat and life goes on normally unlike in other countries which have almost always snow everywhere that they wear even 4 thick clothings and cannot move normally.

I have been living in the US for some time now but I can say that the Philippine fruits are definitely sweeter and juicier. Even non-Filipinos that I've met who have visited the Philippines were impressed by the bananas, mangoes and jackfruits grown in the country. The same fruits grown in other countries pale in comparison. But I miss the warmth and hospitality of the people most. Filipinos, in general, are friendly and would treat everybody like family.

I like being back in the province (Tumauini, Isabela). We have lots of fruit trees in our backyard. I built a tree house with my brother on one of them. I remember picking fruits and eating it in the tree house. Also cooking rice in the small pots, taking meat from the kichen then taking it up the tree house to eat with friends. These were good times. If only I could experience it again.

the beaches, the smiles, the hospitality, traditions, cultures

The beaches,the tropical weather. that is the best thing! The way you can just drive to tropical resorts and enjoy the sun in your spare time or rest days. I hate the traffic heheheh! But in our city, traffic is still not too heavy. Heavy traffic only occurs on peak g\hours of the day. Foreigners also tag us as the friendliest country, so they say. I don't know if it is because almost all of us understand and speak the English language or because when we see a foreigner, most of us are willing to offer our help (i.e, with directions, any relevant questions that we may know the answer to).

i think the best thing about Philippines is our culture that most of us are believing like marriage first before anything else, you know what i mean or the supertitious belief like in province. It's very nice to know that most of the people in the Philippines are believing in such things and they inherit it to their grand son or daughter.
