do you buy articles in e-bay?

hi.. i have planned to do online shopping. has anyone bought anything in e-bay.. is the price too high? is the material without any damage? is there any other online shopping site which is trustworthy and cheaper.. am in india, so is there any such sites suitable for me(since the shipping charges could be avoided or reduced)
