Hope, is it evil?

Ever since i saw a documentary on Discovery Ch I have been very confused about "Hope". The documentary was about the myth of Pandora's Box, when the box was opened all the evils were set loose on Earth and one of the evil was HOPE. Now I have always believed that hope is what keeps everyone going... the silver lining on a dark cloud... the light at the end of the tunnel etc. But if hope itself is evil what do people in desperate situation do?After a lot of though and debate I have come to a conclusion. While hope itself might not be evil, too much hope or over hoping might be. I would love to know your views on this.

I have to agree. If you just hope for something but don't take an active part in making it better then... ...times are in crisis and we cannot remain passive (birth of the avatar)... We all need to do our part. It is critical to have a realistic hold on what our part is. For instance, in the school shooting in Virginia - the student that did the killing made a video explaining why he did what he did. He considered himself a martyr, comparing himself to Jesus Christ. He claimed he was forced to kill because of the decadent nature of the students. He called them spoiled brats and that they owned material wealth to a degree of rottenness. He actively responded to a problem in a negatively evil and destructive way. It is better to influence others into removing meaningless desire and being more conscientious through positive means (words and actions of example). Acting out of anger, frustration, fear, etc is the way of small-minded men like Adolf Hitler.
