anyone have a baby that was bigger than 9 lbs and was upset that they didnt have a little baby that fit into newborn clothes and newborn diapers? i had a 7 lb 2 oz baby, a 7 lb 10 oz baby, 8 lb 7 oz baby and a 8 lb 2 oz baby. my 8 lb 7 oz was a big baby. he never fit into any newborn clothes and only fit into 0-3 for a few days, if that. he went right into size 3-6 months. i was totally ok with that. but i know a few people that had bigger babies and were upset that they didnt have that little baby. i also know someone that always wanted babies smaller than 5 or 6 lbs. she would be put on bedrest but wouldnt listen by 33 or 34 weeks so that the baby would come early. she was stupid!! she got lucky that the baby was ok. she had one at 35 weeks and one at 34 weeks. they were both in the 5 lb range so she got really lucky. just wondering what everyone thought.

My son was 9lbs 3oz at birth. I remember asking the nurse at the hospital for a bigger shirt for him. She told me they were all the same size and should fit. Finally I made her try and it and she was shocked. They had 2 different brand shirts for the babies.
One was really stretchy, the other one not so much. They were all size S (0-3 month). The stretchy one fit fine but the other brand (I think it was Gerber) would not go over his shoulders. She had to go search and find us some more of the other brand for him, lol.
We left the hospital and went right to Wal-mart to get him some clothes (we didn't know what we were having so had no boy clothes at home). I ended up having to buy all 3-6 month pants for him and 0-3 months shirts. A couple months later he had outgrown all of it and was in 6-9 month clothes and he was barely 3 months old.
He just kept growing and growing. He never fit into newborn diapers and was in a size 3 by 3 months old. At 1 he was wearing 24 month clothes. At 18 months he was in 3T. After that he started to slow down on the growing. He is 6 now and still big for his age. He is 52lbs and 48" tall (one of the tallest in his class) and wears a size 7 or 8 pants and medium (8/10) shirts, lol. he is much bigger then his older sister.
My girls were all average sized: 7lbs 1oz, 6lbs 15oz and 7lbs 13oz and are all on the small side now. My oldest is 7 and only weighs 38lbs and is 46" tall (she is a year older then my son).

Wow you had some healthy size babies, My children were
1 6 15
2.6 9
3.5 4
4.6 5
5.6 15
6.7 11
7.7 4
I would have to say I liked the bigger ones a little better when it came to holding, With Britney 5 4 she couldn't even fit into cabbage patch doll clothes. But you know they Grow sooo fast as it is....I think overall as long as our babies are healthy and happy that was good enough for me =)
