A good example is better than sermon,right?

I think the best way to teach a child what is right, wrong, etc. is by not only leading a good example, but talking to them about the different issues they may have in their lives and letting them know that they can come to you for anything. You also have to make sure you set up good guidelines and be consistent with consequences, rewards, etc. We are all only human, and we won't have the same decisions to make in our lives, but we can at least provide a basis for morals and values which is definitely influenced by the behaviors we are shown as children.

It is really difficult to be a good parent. We need to be a good example at all times. I believe that actions speak louder than words. However, parents are also human beings;we are not saints. Nonetheless, we should try our very best to set a good example whenever possible.

I believe how you live is the best way to teach your children. If you give them a sermon, they shut you out. I try to live my life like I want my children to live. One time I bought a Wine Cooler for New years Eve. My youngest son found it in the fridge. He was so disappointed in me. I won't forget the look on his face. I also won't forget that he went to school and told everyone that I was a drunk. (He was about 8).
