I hope I don't get chewed for this, but it's about time! Personally, I find it distasteful that so many people actually had little enough respect for American Idol to keep this guy on for as long as they did. It also bugs me that no one was able to do anything about it. What do you think? Do you really think Sanjaya Malakar was talented enough to compete with those who were eliminated before him? Or do you think he should have gone home weeks ago? I'd love to hear your thoughts. If you feel that I have poor taste, and that I don't know a good sound when I hear one, please tell me. I am asking for your honest opinion.

I agree 110% I can't believe he has been on there as long as he has been. I honestly think that he was using "shock" tactics to get votes and people finally got tired of it. I'm not sure how true it is, but I heard that Howard Stern made an announcement on his radio show that he was going to see if he could actually "sway" the votes on American Idol and asked his listeners to vote for Sanjaya. Like I said, I didn't hear it so I can be one-hundred percent positive but it does make you wonder how else he has stayed on this long. I found it kind of amusing when he broke down and cried the way he did after being told he was going home.....did he honestly think he was good enough vocally that he would be able to stay on the show? I think now that he is gone, we are going to see a real competition.

I am a fan of Melinda Doolittle as well, I just wish she could see herself as so many do. She always seems so shocked when someone pays her a compliment. This is a tough year for me, because by this time, I have usually narrowed it down to one but this year, I'm torn. Besides Melinda, I really like Jordan Sparks. She blew me away when she sang Broken Wing, your doing something if you can sing a Martina McBride song and sound good doing it. Blake Lewis is just awesome and Lakisha and Phil are doing well too. I like Chris but I'm bothered by some of his quirky ways such as his facial expressions and nasally sound at times. It's still early in the game and they all still have a chance but I think Chris and Lakisha better step it up a little bit.

Jordan would be my next pick. She is extremely talented, especially for such a young age. I actually think Melinda Doolittle's humility is one of the things that endears her to everyone. When asked who she though would be leaving, she sat on the floor and refused to say a word. She's just too nice (at least on Idol). If I had to pick the one person I thought had the least going for them, I would say it was Lakisha. She has a good voice, and it's obvious that she likes to sing, but I get the impression that she may be more of a "sing along with the radio" kind of gal, rather than someone with formal training. Not to say she doesn't have talent; that would be far from the truth. But I think she may be the weakest link.

Wow, you really think that Lakisha has the least going for them? I have to disagree. When this competition first started she blew me away with the power house voice and I think that she has become over-whelmed by the whole experience and has begun to doubt herself. I mean, even if I could sing and I had follow Melinda Doolittle, I would doubt myself to, ha, ha, ha. No seriously, I think she could still be a strong contender if she finds herself again. As far as Melinda sitting down, that was just awesome. She is certainly one of a kind and I adore her humble ways, however, I think that will get old very quickly. There comes a point where she needs to acknowledge that she is that good. If I had to choose who I think has the least going for them, I would have to say Chris. I really hate to say that because I really do like Chris but compared to the others, I just don't think he fits in. Last week, I would have said Phil but I think he really proved himself Tuesday night, he was really good. This competition is getting really good and I would have to say that of all the American Idols, this one is the best as far at "competition" goes.

I remember Sanjaya in American Idol. It was quite fun for all of us. Some were angry because he was staying so long, some found it very funny. Well, it was all good for me because in one session we made a bet with my husband, he said he was the one leaving and I said he was staying... Well the one who was going to be right would earn $300! I won! So it was all good to me lol Take care sanctuccie!

There you go! I should have made a bet like that. Annoying as it was (annoying to the other contestants too, according to footage from The Fan), I would have liked to score three bills from it. Thanks for the response! :)
