1. Discrimination Against The Overweight They are portrayed in a negative way on television; are stigmatized in a variety of settings, including education, employment, and health care; and are subject to bias even from doctors who specialize in the treatment of obesity. hD, "People who are victims of bias, discrimination, and teasing suffer both emotionally and physically." Nurses said they are "repulsed" by obese people. Other studies suggest that discrimination occurs in many other parts of life also, including adoption, housing, and even jury selection. Another study found that with a few notable exceptions, obese or overweight characters are largely absent form prime time television and when such characters do appear, they usually are associated with negative characteristics. 2. Healthy Eating Is the Fish You Eat Safe? On one hand, fish deserves its stellar reputation, they have recently advised that eating at least two servings a week can lower your risk of heart disease. But on the other hand, fish can be problematic from a food safety standpoint. Several types of fish contain levels of mercury pollution that are dangerous for some people, specifically young children and pregnant women. Swordfish and tuna are two common fish that have high mercury contents. The polyunsaturated fats in fish lower the risk of heart attack by making blood less likely to form blood clots. The fatty acids also reduce elevated blood levels of triglycerides, another cardiovascular risk factor. Atlantic Herring, Atlantic Salmon, Whitefish, Tuna (fresh, not canned), Sardines, Mackerel, and Rainbow Trout have some of the highest omega-3 fatty acid contents. If the cuts are fresh and clean, enjoy the healthy and tasty benefits!

As far as being discriminated against for being overweight I have never had this happen despite being overweight. I have however had people make derogatory comments about my weight. That's okay though because it gives me more motivation to lose the weight. As for fish, I love fished. Grilled or baked salmon is my favorite and I try to find salmon that the packaging claims to be wild salmon as I have read that it is less likely to contain the high levels of mercury of regular commercial salmon.
