Last night our electricty went what do we do to amuse ourselves.

Last night our electricty went out. There was not storm or no reason that my husband and I could see why it went out. We live in California and we do not expierence black outs unless there is a storm and PG&E is usually out for only a few hours. It was out from 9pm to after 1am. That is prime computer time. No TV, no radio so I read by flash light. I have not done that since I was little.
What was the longest time your power has been out and why? And what did you guys do to break up the quite?

When the electricy is off late like that I would only read a little bit and then go sleep.
It's been a while since we had a big shut down a the longuest time was when I was young. We would simply light a fire and watch it while playing card.
I guess that if it's happen to me in my new house I would do the same thing that when I was a kid :)

Last November we had a really bad storm, and our power was out for 14 days. Luckly We have a generator so we could plug in the esentials like the tv, and computer. Oh and the fridge and freezer, but thats not as important as the TV and computer. It was still a big bore thoe. Younever realize how much you depend on power till you don't have it.

If the power goes off at night, my son would look forward playing shadow puppets with us. I remember doing the same thing when I was a small girl. Sometimes, we tell stories and talk about just anything. And we usually sleep a lot earlier when there is no electricity.
