Gambling is part of our culture. And we cannot deny it. There is called madjong, tong-its, jueteng, hantak, sabong and many others. Personally, speaking gambling is good when you always won on your bet and it is sad to think when you lose. However, there are many aspect in the Philippines that lies on gambling like the Philippine Lotto. What can you say about this?

This is the sad fact. We are encouraged to bet so that we will become rich instead of encouraging us to work real hard to become rich. This mentality is imbedded into our consciousness and we do not work hard and go for the easiest way to get rich. This makes us lazy and just wait for chances to make our life better. It is not really our culture but there are elements that make us embrace this culture. Nobody wins in gambling. You gamble because you want to lose your money.

life will alaways be a game of chance. philippine lotto is held by charitable institution but, no matter how the government sugar-coat it its still gambling. it is not only a culture of filipinos but, almost 80% of the world's population gambles! about 3 million people a day visits las vegas only to gamble! one thing is clear tho, we are never contented with what we really have. the craving, the greed for money lives. humans.

I know someone who was into Sabong. He even had his rooster farm somewhere in Batangas.

He had a big house, mercedes, businesses etc., NOW they are all gone because of Sabong!

Gambling is rampant in the Philippines, especially now that it's hard times. It seems that the only hope they have is winning the Lotto and most often than not, it only just give them false hopes!
