Cheap Advertising Idea: Rent Signature Space of Other Posters email this discussion to a friend?

myLot reputation of 91/100. DesigningLife (502)   ranked 20 out of 26 in internet marketing1 year ago

People never cease to amaze me in their creative quests for earning money. A little while ago I was skimming a message board and found one post with a signature in bold red letters that said, "Rent my signature space (40 posts) for 25 cents per week".

As an Internet Marketer, I think this could be a novel idea, IF I could be sure the posts would be made, made without flammatory or mundane content, and were written in proper English.

What are your thoughts on this idea? Would you rent your signature space to others? Would you hire forum posters to include your business signature in their posts? How much payment do you think is fair? Should the posts be relative to your business?

I am interested in hearing your thoughts on this topic.

There seems to be almost no limit to the creative solutions people can dream up, when it comes to marketing and advertising. I agree that I'd want to know a little more about the person and their posting habits before getting onboard with such a program.

I have spent a lot of time in the "offline" part of the marketing industry... and the only thing that strikes me as problematic with such an approach is that it would almost inevitably be used for "make money" web sites... and that is SUCH an overcluttered market, with millions of people vying to get their affiliate links noticed... all hoping to "click for pennies."

I think it might work better for something "non-money making," in the sense that you could perhaps successfully advertise "porcelain restoration" in the signature line of someone who frequented hobbyist forums for people collecting porcelain dolls. Or something like that.

This is a very good idea and I have never thought of this. It is amazing. Some people are just very creative and find cheap ways for their internet marketing.

But I think I would rather use my signature for my own marketing than getting paid to use it for others.
