I'd go with the eloping thing or maybe find a friend or family member with a nice yard or property - that would save you a lot, go with a nice white outfit or something like that, rather than the traditional & very expensive wedding dress - maybe just a nice white dress that you can pick up from most places!
Make your own chocolates or such to go in to the little gift boxes for the guests.
If you want to save money on photos - on each table, put a disposable camera - that way everyone else that's there, takes the photos for you, you just develope them & have the GOOD ones blown up!
Make your own invites, perhaps your own cake but for the guests, make cupcakes! Also, go to a cheap/dollar shop for things like streamers, balloons, shiny stuff for the tables - that sort of thing!
I hope that helps a little. Congratulations & good luck with your wedding day :)

If you want to do it cheap. Elope!!!
I have been married twice.
The first time we had a wedding and spent about $1,000 total on it. The most expensive thing was my dress. I fell in love with one on clearence so I was able to get it for $420. We rented a boy scout camp for the day, and decorated it ourselves. It was a waste of money really. The marriage lasted less than 2 years before I left.
The second time, we eloped and I have been very happy. It cost us less than $100 to get married, without adding the cost of our rings. The best money ever spent. I am glad we didn't have a wedding. Meant we could use that money to buy a house.
