The gunman who killed a hostage and himself in a stand-off at a Nasa centre in Texas blamed his victim for a poor work performance review, police said. William Phillips, 60, took a revolver to work at the Johnson Space Center on Friday and shot dead fellow employee David Beverly, 62. Phillips bought the gun on the same day last month that he printed off the bad review, police said.
A woman was also held hostage in a four hour ordeal but was only slightly hurt. Nasa said Phillips, a contract engineer, had been employed for about 12 years, was unmarried, had no children and reportedly lived on his own.

So all he thought he had to live for was his job. It shows why people need to make friends. There is no excuse for what that man did, but it was so preventable. I know it's not likely, but I think more places of work should implement yearly psychological profiles. It could be a hassle, but it might save a life. Look at what the other infamous NASA employee did.

You know, the Virginia Tech shooter blamed other people for his actions too. He went so far as to say "You made me do this"
People all over this planet try to lay the blame for their actions and feelings at the feet of others. Too cowardly to own their thoughts, feelings and actions.
I hate it when I hear someone say " Well, she MADE me feel that way" uh, no, you chose to feel that way and you chose not to control those feelings.
Same thing with people saying "You MADE me do it" Don't think so! You chose to do it.
There is too much of the blame game going on.
