poverty in natural resources rich philippines

when log ban was imposed in this country a decade ago, lot of forest resouces dependent families were displaced. i cant imagine why our intectual law makers failed to project and plan how to have these people be given their equal right to exist after more than four generations has contibuted to tax to the government and help maintain our ailing economy.

at present, they lived in poverty; most are being run after by the environment agency for illegal logging-an activity punishable by law, because it is degrading our natural forest, our ecological balance and biodiversity.

while it is fair perhaps to keep our forest, ecology and wildlife, is it also fair to let our brothers in the countryside to dwell in poverty?

as project director of a non-government organization called THE TREE PLANTERS FEDERATION, i feel how my recipient-beneficiaries muddles in poverty. whenever we find the fun to see exhibition and tricks in circuses, our heart bleeds to see a sort of exhibition for how our dwellers in countryside survive day to day to exist, where most often, they were not certain where to find their lunch after breakfast, or where to find their dinner after lunch.

one reason most of them were easily lured to insurgency. in effect, congress and senate appropriates more budget to militarization at the expense of education, and livelihood programs for the countryside.

the countryside dwellers are given by theTREE PLANTERS FEDERATION, INC., technology transfer and planting materials of plantation species of trees to support industies in wood processing, marketing and export.but planters mostly are discouraged to go on planting because of unstable policy, changable rules and regulations emplementation due changes of administration or revamps in the cabinet, wherein farmers find difficulties to market during harvest period.

HOW LONG WILL MY BROTHERS IN THE COUNTRYSIDE LIVE IN POVERTY IN THIS NATURAL RESOURCES RICH COUNTRY?
