Do advertisements influence/ persuade you into buying a certain product?

it will depend on how they advertise it or who are the people who endorse it..

Advertisement or commercial are promoted via the medium of television. Most commercials are produced by an outside advertising agency and airtime is purchased from a Media Agency or direct from the TV channel or network. This has great impact to know about products to millions of people and people has got scope to know how many products are available of similar one and who make what?

But it increase price of product because consumer has to pay the cost. Know some history of advertisement on TV. That is the first television advertisement was broadcast in the United States at 14:29 on July 1, 1941, when the Bulova Watch Company paid $9 to New York City NBC affiliate WNBT (now WNBC) for a 20-second spot aired before a baseball game between the Brooklyn Dodgers and Philadelphia Phillies. It simply displayed a Bulova watch over a map of the U.S., with a voiceover of the company's slogan "America runs on Bulova time!"

I think good advertisement charm our memory and we influenced buy the products from add.

Admit it or not, good advertisements absolutely have a huge impact on people opinions I mean good advertisements.I have seen a ad about a paint it's on TV,it's just so beautiful and so elegant,since I have decided to buy that brand since I have seen the ad regardless if it's really good or not at least I will have a try. So good ads definitely can persuade people into buying some product.

Some advertisements, I give them the benefit of the doubt so I buy the product advertised. Others are just doubtful. How will I buy a whitening soap when the endorser is known to be always fair-skinned, a young star endorsing a local cologne (or local products for that matter) when you know that s/he is always partial to imported things? Or that shampoo/conditioner commercial that shows you a female star's long, soft, smooth untangled, very straight hair and then you see her appearing on a live tv appearance sporting the opposite? LOL.

yes if adds are impressive they influnce me to try the product but i continue only if i am satisfied with the product!! but it does influnces kids a lot...

i saw an advertisement on the television once. a wonder detergent that can remove an ink stain on a shirt. i bought it. i used it the way they demonstrate and indicate at the label. it doesn't work at all! hahaha. and i've bought many ebooks on the internet saying they will help me make money and it turn out that the information given can be ontain for free from mr. Google. what a joke (thank god now i've found a real system!) so i think advertisement tend to make me buy stuffs. I just have to be extra careful next time. cheers

It is fun that you carry out the same experience on TV at home. You know, there is a bunch of kids from college who do the vitamin c measurement on Rebenna to verify if blackcurrent really contain 4 times vitamin C than Orange as it claim on the advertisement. It was for their chemical assignment. It then turn out that the blackcurrent Rebenna contain NONE vitamin C. The case was ended in court now.


Well, I will be influence from advertisement if the product wasn't really expensive, ie household item. If it is expensive item like a vehicle or a condo, i will really research on it, and will not trust the sales person AT ALL.

The reason why companies and people advertise their products is because, advertisements have been proven to have a big influence on the people's patronage. If I get to see on tv a new brand of shampoo which they claim to be good, really good, the next time I get to the supermarket, I'll try to look for a sachet of it, so I can have a try. There were some items already which I found to be good for me, and so, I kept on buying them.

Oh yes!! That is one reason I do not have a credit card, I will go broke!! I seen the add for the sweep n mop, I got them, I seen the add for the duster I got it. Now I want that magic bullet! And the sandwich maker! oh yea, I am sucker for those adds, only thing is, what I want now is too expensive! lol

yes.. sometimes.. advertisement does influence me to buy something.. i think advertisement can be fake.. and can be real too.. sometimes people advertise just to get the information across others..because there's not better way than to advertise using a television or newspaper.. right? but.. there are also some cases where the company actually advertise fake products.. i mean.. not fake.. but low quality product.. in the advertisement.. the product seems so useful.. but when you actually buy it.. it will become useless within a month or two.. have any of you encounter such problems before? i did.. and now i carefully choose every product that i'm going to buy:)
