Child dies parents and doctor to blame.

It is tragic that a 2 1/2 year old child was diagnosed with ADHD and depression then prescibed depression medicine. I doesnt take a brain surgeon to know that it is natural for children that age to throw temper tantrums and have different sleep patterns. Instead of dealing with it like most parents these parents and doctors of little Rebecca Riley choose to take the easy way out and drug her up and now she is dead that is so horrific. My heart and soul breaks for this child. There is no proper way for the doctors to test for bipolar or ADHD in babies or toddlers. Too many parents are medicating their children rather than modifying their childs behavior.

That is just so horrible. I do think Dr. and parents are getting to rely on meds. instead of dealing with things. People are thinking that meds are always the answer to everything. This is sad for the people that really need it because as soon as you say they are on certain meds, people start judging you right away and I don't know why people would want to risk the side effects, if they could do something else for it.

absolutely. And there are so many other alternatives out there for people who are older. But children at that age should never be on medicines like that, they are just to young do make any determination's like that. All the doctors are thinking about is the all mighty dollar thats going in their pocket. Also there are a few parents that do it just so they can get a check from the government for there child being on medicines like that because it classifies them as disabled children. Here in my state they get $900.00 a month for it. That just really sucks.

This just tears my heart out. I can't believe that someone would do this to thier own child. I have three and have never thought of doing it to any of them. Two year olds go trough alot of changes and you as a parent should learn how to handle it not just cover it with something like meds.

It is just pure lazyness. They took the easy way way out and now they will have a terrible regret over their heads for the rest of their lives.

That is tragic! I've never met a 2 1/2 year old that didn't thow tantrums! They don't know how to communicate quite yet, so that's why they do that. I guess a doctor can't make money off a normal toddler.

And it certainly has come down to all about the all mighty dollar. to much greed and not enough compasion.
