Destination Weddings -- Would you do it?

The more I think about my wedding and the more I hear about friends and the trouble and money they put into their weddings, I think it would make more sense to elope. But then I'd miss that my family and friends weren't there, so that doesn't work either.
A few months ago, a coworker of mine mentioned this phrase.. 'destination wedding' so I started looking into it and it seems like a great idea!
Invite everyone.. mom, dad, your best friend, the guy she's dating, your hairstylist, the gardener, your old landlord.. WHOEVER you wouldn't mind seeing at your big day. If they come, that's great and they can join in your special day, and if not, at least they know you're getting hitched, right?
So I think I'm pretty well stuck on the idea. Someone mentioned Mexico is quite a popular destination, but I thought Jamaica, Tahiti or the Bahamas might be a lot more fun for me.
So if you're married and you could do it again, would you do the traditional wedding and have to carefully pick and choose your guests? Or would you jetset off to some tropical locale and invite everyone?

My boyfriend and I think it would be really nice to get married in Moscow Russia. We've always wanted to go to Russia. Now we are actually thinking eloping might not be a bad idea. We have rather interesting family situations, and we just want to do things our way without a lot of unsolicited advice. LOL

If I had the money, and I could afford to pay for everyone to come, I would love it. I wouldn't want anyone to be excluded because they couldn't afford to come, or if they couldn't get enough time off, or had some other kind of trouble.
I'm not really a wedding person. When I got married, my husband and I eloped. I just didn't want to make a big deal of it. We went in front of a justice of the peace, and two of our best friends were there. The judge thought that one guy was a girl, and didn't seem to like it that our friend had long hair (this was back in 1972), after saying all the words to marry us, and he said "You may kiss the bride" when my husband went to kiss me, the judge turned around and spit into the wastebasket. We thought he was a jerk, but we laughed later. This year we'll be together for 35 years.

If i were to marry again i woudl buy the whole package right down to the shoes. Been too four of them now and another later next month they are so great everythign can be taken care of all you have to do is show up which has been a problem for a few of the grooms who got tangled up with the guys in the group and had one last night of fun.
If i was to do one it would be some where in the south pacific.
