I am wanting my children and I to do something in order to thank some of our soldiers who are overseas. I am wondering if any of you know of any websites that may have names and addresses of soldiers who do not receive letters from the states. I would love for my children and I to be able to thank these great people for what they do for us. If there are any websites that list this information could you please list the website address here. Also it doesn't have to be just a website, if you know of any soldier personally that would love some mail, please leave the address here so that my children and I could send them a letter/a card or maybe even a picture that my children painted or colored. Thanks to all of your for your post in advance. I hope that I get lots of comments and or addresses on this issue. Maybe I could even get some others involved in writing to our soldiers to show our support.

My son's father is in Iraq. I will have to look for it, but I have an address that you can send solider mail. I will send you a message tomorrow sometime after I hunt it up. I know they will appericate it. My kids are homeschooled and do fundraisers for take field trips and to send care packages to soliders. I think it is cool.

Contact your local Veterans of Foreign Wars post or the American Legion in your area. They can help you with contact information for units in your local area. You can also contact the base closest to you and ask for a contact number to an FRG (Family Readiness Group) member. If you want to get a little more involved find out if any of these groups need help packing boxes doing fund raisers to welcome home a unit, etc. It's a good way to get involved or teach your children to get involved. It's nice to see that you want to be involved and involve your kids. The soldiers love letters from children. They are the best and brightens their days. I've heard some say they read the letters over and over. Hope that helps. There are specific guidelines to send things to soldiers. What you can or can not send, addressing the envelope. The above mentioned groups can help you to make sure your mail gets to a soldier. Thanks for supporting our soldiers.
