Is the toilet seat up or down at your house?

Thinking about it - it would depend on the male/female ratio! There's only me and hubby so our seat is up one minute and down the next! It's very irritating that blokes leave it up, why can't you put it down! lol

The toilet is usually down, but sometimes it is up. It depends on who used it last. I have read medical magazines (for example Bottom Healthline) that says if you leave the toilet seat up while flushing you get bacteria in the air. That didn't sound good to me at all, so I always close the seat and cover before flushing. It seems nice too because when the women are using then they don't get annoyed. Have a nice day. Pablo

It's always down at our house, as my boyfriend prefers to sit down while he urinates. Nope, I've never asked him to do so and at first I was surprised to learn that some men prefer to sit! My father always stands, you see, but he's always been quite good at putting the seat back down. He used to be the only male in the household so I guess he got used to the seat being down often. I've noticed however that whenever we have parties our male friends always leave the toilet seat up, no matter if they've found it down. It annoys me, but not to the extent that I'll actually say something about it. I just find it's slightly rude as they should just leave things as they were.

The toilet seat is down in our house and there's no arguments about it. There has always been this argument since these things were invented and you should know, us women always win in this particular area as far as I'm aware. So if you're fighting for the seat to stay up, I think you're fighting a losting battle HEHE! x

The lid of the seat is usually left up as we are starting to try and get our 20month old son to start getting used to the toilet etc. The rim seat part is usually put up when my boyfriend uses the toilet but i put it down when i use it. Ithink it depends really on man or women. Men tend to put the seat up when using the toilet so as they don't make a mess every where. lol

Our is always down along with the lid. I have an 11 month old son and they say when babies start trying to play in the bathroom you have to be careful because when they try to play in the water in the toilet some fall in and can't get out and drown. I guess that I'm just extra cautious about these kinds of things. There is me, my husband, my daughter and my son and no matter what everytime you use the bathroom the toilet seat and lid go down.
