A recent study showed that children of working women who were happy in their jobs, had the highest self esteem among all the other children.
A woman CAN work and care for the kids at the same time, if they are her priority. If she does a good job, the children feel cared for, and become independant and responsible at the same time, since their mother is not always around.
I have also seen women who totally neglect their families, but this I've seen among both housewives and working women. If women care for their children, they will care for them with all their heart, irrespective of whether they are working or not

I think working women also make decent mothers. Sometimes housewives lose touch with reality, especially when the children approach teenage, most housewives don't know how to deal with them, because their world revolves around their family. Working women are in constant touch with the outside world and can deal with it better

I'm a working mom, but I'm lucky enough to be working while they are at school. The only thing I miss is on the weekends if I work. We wouldn't make it if I didn't work, and my kids wouldn't have the stuff they needed for school and such. I don't think I am a bad mom for working, just a tired mom.
