Have you watched Door to Door starring William Macy? It's a true-to-life story of Bill Porter, a man born with CP but very determined to make it on his own. Every time I get to see that on Cinemax, I always cry. It is such an inspiring movie especially to a mother like me who is never giving up hope for a better future for my own son with CP.
Do look for it in video stores or wait for it to be shown on cable TV. You'll come out a different person after watching it.

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll have to look for it. My son has severe CP (severe spastic quadriplegia) among many other things. He is total care and I am the only one who takes care of him, extremely stressful so I'm always looking for inspiring things. Once again thanks:)

You're welcome. I'm not sure if it's already on video but I hope you get to watch it. Our sons have the same condition (CPSQ) and I'm also the one who spends the most time with him. I know what you're also going through. It's great that we get to encourage one another even through forums like these :) Take care and stay strong ...

Thank you for telling me about it. I think it's important to have movies about stuff like this. My 4 year old daughter has mild c.p. But she too is very determined. Could you post the next time it will be on MAX? I have that channel and would love to see it. Thanks.

There is definately hope for her considering it's mild. So keep your chin up. Are you getting her therapy?

You're welcome. But I'm not sure about the movie scheduling coz I'm here in the Philippines. I think we receive a different schedule here in Asia than what is shown there in the US though. Perhaps it would be better if you request a showing from your cable provider directly. I hope you get to see it :)

Thank you so much for the suggestion, I am always interested to find out more about movies about the cerebral palsied. Another good one you may want to watch if you haven't is "Inside I'm dancing", it's about a guy with CP and another with muscular dystrophy and how they set out to live on their own with assisted care. I found it very thought provoking. Although I do not have a family member with CP, I have a very special friend with cerebral palsy who has been a real inspiration to me and is a fantastic person (now in his 40's).
