If practice makes perfect and nobodys perfect why practice?

In this competitive world whatever we do, still there may be another optimum solution. So we should try to be best in what we are . So practice can make us to be far ahead from others even though we are not best but better than others.
Practice is like a ray which has a starting but no ending.

We can say perfection is like a highway which is a bridge between success and failure. So it depends on us to catch either car or cycle to reach the destination in given time-lines. Here practice plays a great role which makes us to get either success or failure. In the beginning, journey might be from failure and will be definitely towards success if we practice. It is sure with practice one could be always towards rising head and so as perfection but without practice there is no definite result and here only luck can play the role. So i feel practice makes man perfect.
