What kind of festivals do you have where you live?

Where I live we have the Italian Festival. Of course, lots of Italian food, music, drinking, ponies for the kids to ride, and some kid rides, and of course vendors selling different things. It lasts about 3 and a half days. We also have the Apple Festival, which of course has alot of different apples, and is very similar to the Italian Festival with all the kid activities etc. It last 3 days. We usually attend both at least 1 day each. This is big for us because this is a small town also and there isn't much to do.

Where I Come from there are two Festivals I can Remember being the best. First is Teritory Days which is 3 days long, remebering and celebrating the Indian Hertiage. It has lots of food of course, arts and crafts beyond beleif and several Dances from the few that are still involved in the Indians and come from there Hertiage. The dances are absoultly amazing. The Second and the Best is Donkey Derby Days. My home town has Donkeys that Work once a year and rome around the town the rest of the year. They have several races with the Donkeys. They also Celebrate POW MIA and the Motorcyle rally is apart of this 3 day celebration. My Home Town consits of about 2000 people in it. When we Celebrate Donkey Derby Days it brings in around 80,000 people to celebrate. Very dedicated people come 10,000 feet up to celebrate the POW MIA and too show off their Motorcycles. Also they come to see the Donkeys race and to see the fools that ride them.

The small town near where I live has an annual festival named after a railroad siding, or turnout. During the festival, there are more people in town than actually live in the town year round (about 200 people live in town year round.)

My country which is a cosmopolitan, we do have a privilege to celebrate our own festivals i.e. Depavali, Thaipusan (A religious Occasion), Fire-walking, Ponggal and other Hindu related festive. The Chinese, celebrate their, Chinese New Year which last almost a month., the Muslim have their, Puasa and the Haji celebration and for the Christians the Christmas id there for them.

The beautiful thing here is, we visit others on their festive days and celebrate with them it is a great and a very nice feeling.

I live in the southwest of the USA. It is very layback and still western. We are far from the city. We have a lot of Native American Pow Wows and Rodeos. I love them. We also have lovely fine art and craft shows. I try to get to everything, if possible. I do not participate anymore, but I used to do the fine art shows.

I loved when I was invited to do a showing demo at a old pioneer festival. It was once a year in a 100 year old cabin.
