My husband and I got our Costco membership for $25 a year. We save lots of money there because we buy in bulk and split items with our family. I think that is where the big savings comes in as most of their quantities are huge. I have also found some great deals on books and magazines that are half price and these make great presents.

My mother is actually one of the demo ladies at our membership store in town. She was given 2 memberships, so she gave one to me. My daughter and I will go there once in a while, usually to visit my mom when she is working. I don't think that the prices are all that great either, unless you can find something on sale. They have great sales. If an item at our membership store is marked when on sale is with a 1 in the cents. Like $6.81 means it is a sale item. Sometimes they are hard to find, but I have gotten some great deals when I take the time to really look.

I do not think these people have the right to charge a membership to shop at their stores. And then if you have a small family or are alone it ends up costing you more because you need to buy everything in bulk. I think they purchase in bulk but should not sell in bulk to customers. It should be offered both ways to customers you can buy 1 can ayt this price or 12 cans at this price and let us choose. And as far as charging a membership fee I think they would have more customers and better sales if they were to stop this, so many of us cant afford to pay for a membership and then it needs to be paid every year. Give me a brake

To buy groceries at hypermarts are usually cheaper than normal supermarkets. When my family buys in bulk, we normally share orders with our extended family. So buying in bulk actually saves us time because each family takes turn to go grocery shopping.

It also saves us the hassle of forgetting somethings because we have to just tick the list of items and write down the quantities of which to buy. Cheers! - Lyn

How much is the yearly membership? I dont do that we shop at walmart I will bet you its cheaper and we buy our meat from another store we like.

I shop at Costco and love it. We paid the $50 yearly membership, and have saved so much money and time by going there for many products. We bought a costco brand pack of paper towels for $11 and it's lasted us a family with 4 kids 9 months! We just used the last roll the other day. We get a huge pack of TP that lasts us about 3 1/2 months for the same price. We buy our kids diapers there. Huggies pack of size 5/176 diapers for my 2 year old is $37 and I always have a coupon that makes it a couple bucks cheaper and it lasts forever. Wipes too! LOVE COSTCO! I dont normally get meat or anything like that because I dont have the room, but we always get paper products, diapers, wipes, trash bags, some fruits and snacks.

I joined Sam's Club and considered the cost of membership when I signed up for it. I probably save more than 3 times the cost of membership every year. I eat a lot of vegetables and can get a great deal on them there compared to anywhere else, including farmer's market.

I am a member of Sams club. this is like costco. I pay for a membership. I find that this store is a hit or miss. You can go in one time and get a great price on ground chuck and then the next week it is high. I like to buy things like Old Bay Seasoning here because it is cheaper to buy this huge container than to pay $5.00 for about 14 ounces. I had a membership under my dad and he let his go. I sat and figured out my savings and it is for me a good buy. If you do not have a lot of freezer room though it may not be for you. I have a large upright freezer as well as a smaller box freezer. You just have to see what is best for you.
