You’ve probably heard of arachnophobia, thanks in part to the movie with the same name, and claustrophobia, but what about gamophobia or phobophobia? Here’s a brief introduction to phobias, from the familiar to the more obscure.
Acrophobia: Fear of heights
Agoraphobia: Fear of being in a public place
Ailurophobia: Fear of cats
Androphobia: Fear of men
Anthropophobia: Fear of human companionship
Arachnophobia: Fear of spiders
Bathophobia: Fear of deep places
Claustrophobia: Fear of enclosed spaces
Cynophobia: Fear of dogs
Entomophobia: Fear of insects
Ereuthophobia: Fear of blushing
Gamophobia: Fear of marriage
Gephyrophobia: Fear of crossing a bridge
Gymnophobia: Fear of seeing a naked person
Gynephobia: Fear of women
Hedonophobia: Fear of pleasure
Hypengyophobia: Fear of responsibility
Hypnophobia: Fear of sleep
Ichthyophobia: Fear of fish
Mysophobia: Fear of dirt
Nostophobia: Fear of going home
Nyctophobia: Fear of night or darkness
Ophidiophobia: Fear of snakes
Pathophobia: Fear of disease
Pediophobia: Fear of children or dolls
Phobophobia: Fear of phobias
Psychrophobia: Fear of the cold
Scopophobia: Fear of being stared at
Spectrophobia: Fear of mirrors
Tocophobia: Fear of childbirth
Theophobia: Fear of God
Triskaidekaphobia: Fear of the number thirteen
Zoophobia: Fear of animals
Although, this is not the most pleasant subject, I thought it would be fun to look at this list and see if we are here or know someone with these phobias. Some of these, most people have a fear of, like snakes and some of these seem almost rediculous, like a fear of cats or dogs.
I wont share my fears, but I will say that I know a guy who has a paralyzing fear of dolls. That is so funny to me. This is suppose to be a complete list, but I know that it is not.

I have a real bad fear of crowds. It's actually listed under a few different names including agoraphobia. I cannot do a lot of things because of it. If I go shopping it has to be at off times to try and avoid the crowds. Even driving can be problematic for me due to the roads being too crowded. It's not fun.
My brother has Triskaidekaphobia, the fear of the number thirteen. In his case it might be justified, he's had a lot happen to him on Friday the 13th. Still he will avoid things with that number if at all possible.

I do better as a driver then a passenger. As a passenger I'm a wreck waiting to happen but as a driver I feel more in control.
Sounds like your sister has her hands full with her then. I feel for her with that one. I know how hard kids can be let alone if you have one that is a real handful and is tempermental.

I don't believe in superstition, but I will say that my oldest niece was born on Friday the 13th and that sister is nothing nice. Even my sister says that she was a hard child to raise.
I am inclined to believe that one had nothing to do with the other, but there is no denying that this kid is something else. She and I were at odds for a long time during her pregnancy. I just don't see how my sister deals with her.
I don't drive at all. I get anxious just being a passenger. No one should have to deal with me on the road and I don't want to deal with them either. Californians drive like maniacs anyway.

The only thing that I could come up with for fear of pleasure is that some people feel that if they are experiencing to much pleasure, something bad is bound to happen.
Fear of buttons, that is a new one for the books. Maybe as a child, they had a hard time learning to button things up. The only thing more amazing about the different phobias, are the stories behind them and if one has a phobia, there is usually a story.
