I don't know anyone that grew up this way and I was just curious about what the advantages and disadvantages would be to growing up this way. Do you move around a lot, do you get public schooling or base schooling, do you get to live in foreign countries? Is it a happy experience or does it make you unhappy? If like me you don't know anyone like this feel free to speculate as i have done. It never hurts to reflect on different lifestyles, it may make your lifestyle that much more appealing to you.

I never was but I do know some people that was. They said there were pros and cons to living like that.

@sumofalltears My youngest brother retired from the Navy. His wife was a child of military career. They traveled everywhere.

I am the child of two career military people even though my mother chose to be released after I was born and my parents were divorced. My father stayed until after he turned 43. He served for over 20 years in the military. He moved around a lot and lived over seas for a few years so I was not able to visit him as I was too young so I did not actually meet my father as to where I remembered him until I was 8. It was hard, but I accepted it as he was serving his country and I was always proud of that coming from a military family as I do. My grandfather also served in World War II so there is a longer line of military there also. :) It has it's annoyances but it has it's rewards too.

Both of my parents were in the military but not for a career. They met and married while stationed in the Navy in Norfolk, VA. I have one son that has three years service in the Army and 7 with the Naional Guard. I would have to think that it has its pros and cons, hopefully it balences out for the sake of the children.
