Old folks say that seeing a comet up at dawn, when facing its tail towards the sunrise will bring bad fortune into the world like calamities, famine, war and others. Any comment?

No, I don't think those sort of 'omens' have a thing to do with good or bad fortune coming upon you. I think our 'luck' is pretty much up to GOD, and our own attitudes towards life.

Yep me too. No such thing of bad luck or good luck just by watching a commet or anything like it. If it was a bad luck, so who's going to be an astronaut?..:)

As we, human beings, come to understand the nature of such things as comets, we see that they have no relationship to things like luck3. On the other hand there are still many mysteries to be solved. Such as why animal life seems to 'KNOW' in advance when a hard winter, early freeze, or even things like the tsumami are coming. Their instints are incredible, and we learn much from studying them.

Now that I read this i think I have heard that people centuries ago believed in things like that. I do not know if there is some truth in it. I would rather think it is invented but has nothing to do with real life. Happy mylotting.

I don't deny the statement outright. I am not superstitious or religious. But the impact or changes which the comets brings to the normal flow of solar system is to be studied. That may the reason to think that comets brings bad luck.

I believe that you leave the comets alone. Already they travel a million mile and are very tired by the time it reaches the sun. How do you even believe that they give either good or bad luck to millions of lives on earth ? Our lucks are with us and how we utilise the opportunities. Leave the comets alone.
