We have a beautiful Lutino cockatiel who lives on a shelf instead of in a cage. My husband clips her wings so she can't fly terribly far, but sometimes she'll jump off of the shelf and start walking around the house and she looks like a little bitty chicken to me.

So the other day my little boy was standing near the bird's shelf and holding this plastic chicken toy he got in a kids' meal at Wendy's, and in the first brief moment I looked at him standing there, I thought he was holding the bird by the neck. It scared me to death until I realized what was really going on! I've chuckled over this several times since it happened.

Anyone else have funny stories like this??

My daughter received a kitten fro her 3 third birthday. This cat loved her and she loved it. This cat doesn't like anyone else in the house other then her.
Well about a year after getting the cat she had painted the cat green, yes green. The cat just sat there and took it like he was getting a bath or something. After seeing this I got worried that the paint would make the cat sick or even kill it, but all way fine after a nice bath.
Sometime later she dressed the cat up in baby clothes and put it in a stroller, once again he didn't fight her or make a fuse about the whole thing.
This cat has been through hell for the past 3 years but still loves her to death and is always right there next to her at all times. She still picks him up and carries him around like a baby even though he weighs like 20 some odd pounds.
At times I fell so sorry for him for all that he has gone through, but he does not seem to be affected about any of it and he still doesn't like anyone else in the house besides her.

That is a HOOT! I can't believe the cat put up with being painted, and I'm very glad it's okay. I actually had an orange cat that got colored green once, but it was because it got ahold of a green marker and "killed" it. That was really funny when it happened too. And now we have a different orange cat who lives outside and tolerates a lot of interesting treatment from my son. I think it's kind of cool that an animal will sometimes work so well with a child.

Thanks for sharing your story! I really enjoyed it!!
