How far can the Golden State Warriors go?  

Yep. They suprised everyone out there! I think they have a bright chance to go to the next around. ALthough I dont see they can continue their run against Spurs, Phoenix or even Rockets.

they can go as far as the second round or the conference finals. they're 3-1 against the mavericks and it seems they're looking good and poised to upset the 67-15 number 1 seeded team and western conference champion. the warriors might end it at game 5 or 6.

here are some odds for the second round:

vs UTAH
this might be a match-up the warriors might prefer rather than facing the rockets. though carlos boozer and deron williams are playing ala karl malone and john stockton tandem, experience wise, utah might fall. baron davis, stephen jackson and jason richardson might take advantage for utah's lack of competitive guards. the main problem would be boozer, williams, okur and kirilenko. boozer is playing lately like a man possessed, and he just scored 41 points for the jazz in game 2, karl malone type of numbers. kirilenko's defense might also alter some of the warriors gameplay, especially baron davis. though, the warriors can rely on some of their players like monta ellis and matt barnes. chances are, the warriors might beat utah

vs HOUSTON
t-mac and yao. explosiveness and height. two things that the warriors might want to avoid in the second round. though tracy mcgrady has not made much noise against utah, for sure, he can come up with 30, 40 or even 50 point games against the warriors. golden state have no andrei kirilenko type of defender who could keep t-mac on bay. plus houston's got shane battier, luther head and rafer alston who are also capable scorers. on the other hand, yao ming could also be a big problem for the warriors. yao could put up double-double number every night and he brings intimidation in the paint, something that might give baron davis some second thoughts. yao is good at both defense and offense. chances are, the warriors will exit at this stage.

if they make it beyond the second round, i doubt if they can make it past the phoenix suns or the san antonio spurs. if i'd say that the warriors will make it to the finals, that would be so ambitious. the suns and spurs are just too much for them.

but anyway, beating the mavericks is more than enough for them, considering that they made the playoffs forthe first time in 13 seasons and ending cracking up the 8th spot in the west. not a bad season after all

it's very hard to tell right now, even if the warriors are up 3-1 they should not take it lightly against the western conference champ. 3-1 is not an unmountable series lead i just think that the dallas can come back to this series if the warriors lose their composure on the game and take the mavs lightly. last season the lakers are also up 3-1 against the stoudemire-less phoenix but the phoenix still won the series. so i guess this is still a series between this two teams, it ain't over until it's over. even if they past the number 1 seed mavs i think their playoff run will end at the semi-finals againts the rockets or jazz

golden state lost yesterday
and i think they will be beaten in next two games as well
and then wont advance to the second round of playoffs

The Warriors are only going to make it to the second round. They going to end up playing against the Utah Jazz and they will lose.
