Does anyone have any helpful hints on how to keep the shedding down to a minimun? I brush every morning and every evening after he swims (we have a pond and I can't keep him out of it!). I figure brushing him when he's wet will get more hair but it seems to be a never ending battle... It's starting to turn my friends away from coming around him because they leave with a pound of hair on them! HELP... Oh, and has anyone tried those formulas that claim to help dogs shedding the natural way? I would like some feedback on that if you have. And remember I know that my dog is going to shed I would just like to know if anyone has found a solution to make it less...

I just bought one of those pet combs called the "shed ender." It worked great on my cat. They are about $10.00 at bed bath and beyond or walmart. Good luck!

I would let him dry before you brushed him after he went swimming. I have a malamute/black lab....I understand shedding. Max gets brushed once a day and vacuumed once a day. Is your dog afraid of the vacuum cleaner?
