Will you accept a straw from strangers?

I think I would have been so puzzled with it I would have asked why they are giving away these straws in the first place, then since they are unwrapped I'd most probably say it's not very hygienic so I don't want them, you're always taught not to accept unwrapped things that might go in your mouth. Then I'd leave. Or maybe I'd take one as proof to tell my friends and to keep next to my diary as a funny story for future reference d:

I try to avoid peope giving things out, simply because I don't like saying no. I really think that they have a hard job sitting out there offering things, and i don't like making them feel bad. I really don't care to tell you the truth, but when someone approaches me it tends to affect me. If this situation had happened to me depending on my mood i'd have muttered no thank you, and walked off. I can't stand being chased by mall patrons, its ridiculous. If you want some then you'll walk over, I understand if you like two or three feet from them but chasing you 10 to 15 feet for straws. Come on? Thats just someone who is desperate, and its just annoying.

..that is, strange.. No I wouldn't take them, as that would just entail my having to go to the next trash can to throw them out.. (or maybe that's just what I'd do, lamblike courtesy having sprung to the fore). I wonder what the deal was? Pretty weird. I would try to avoid them if I saw them coming.. I recieve flyers, things like that from peole and smile and say thank you, even if their cause isn't mine.. or their product doesn't interest me.. But there's only so much my paranoia will allow.. Straws? And unpackaged? Surely there's logic somewhere.. but what it might be, nothing comes to mind.. So yes, it would likely make me suspicious.. of something..
