Do you have an id card for your child?

Or have you ever thought of having one made for your child? I made 2 for my kids with a photo program that I have. I do need to make updated ones as they expired a couple of months back. A child's ID should be updated at least once a year, don't you think? And every parent out there should have an ID card for their child. You just never know when it might come in handy...

I heard of people making these and selling them on ebay for people. You just email a picture of your child and they make it for you and send it by mail to you. I don't have one for my child yet, but now that I think about it. I might look into it. So is the child suppose to carry it all the time and the parent also carries one? I would like one. How did you make yours?

You mean to say I can make money doing this? LOL I made mine using a digital program. It has different a variety of looks for the kids to choose from. My husband and I each carried cards for both of our kids, but this time when I update I think I'll print up extras so my kids can have them on them as well.

In Singapore, the ID department will work with schools. So students are informed when they need to get their ID. It's very well-oraganized. For the very rare few who are not in school, I am not sure though I suspect the authorities will post them a notice.

Yes, I do have an ID card for my youngest son. It's funny, my daughter, 21, just found it the other day as I hadn't seen it in several years. It is very old, he'll be 16 next week and was 5 or 6 when it was made. It's still helpful though - his finger print is on the back... I have failed to keep it updated though and you are right, it should be done yearly and you never know.

Yes, my cousin made id cards for her kids at home only using photo paint or some graphic software. She made them so that if she misses them somewhere or if they get lost then somebody can inform her immediately about the kids. In India we have one more facility, we can get these ID cards from police station. My mom gave them picture of my nephew, son of elder sister, they stored a card on file, incase he ever went missing, and my sister keeps the card in her purse and she lets nephew wear the third one. So, they would have all the information if something did happen.

My children have had ID cards since they were born. When the were younger we updated their cards every 3-6 months. Now we normally do it once a year. Not only does the cards have my childrens photo, name, phone number, but it also has their medical conditions listed on the back. My children carry one in their backpacks, one for each parent, and also one for each vehicle in case we are ever in an accident. If you are a parent who is interested in making an ID card for your child here is a site for you to look at. http://www.billybear4kids.com/PersonalizedID/PhotoID.html

I was considered an "alien" in the country where I was born. I have a different nationality. Its how the system works here. My girls both have their own ID card which I availed at the immigration center for $50 each plus an annual fee of $8. The government here are having a great time of collecting money from the "alien."
