Is this world becoming dependent on $$?? I think it is and I think that it is pretty pathetic. Can we go back to just how things were BEFORE the little bits of paper we trade for stuff?? dont you think these bits of paper are taking full control on our lives?

Lol.........well, I'd say you hit the nail on the head, for sure! But, since people have forever been 'enticed' by "money" (in whatever form it happens to take...paper, silver, gold, plastic...doesn't really matter, as long as it holds the power to be used for "buying stuff"). Seems that people are always wanting "just a little more than they already have"...for some reason. And, you're right that it seems to be a lot worse these days...seems like people are now almost "worshipping" money. -Government policies are fashioned around their monetary impact. -Business practices are overlooking 'human suffering' impact of job outsourcing, layoffs, wage and benefit cuts, just to become "more competitive" and increase profits. -Employers are "squeezing" more and more from their employees; i.e., rescinding benefits or wages, demanding longer hours for same pay, etc. Of course, we know the world needs money...or at least some form of trading "currency". The day will come (soon?) when paper and coin currencies are replaced with "electronic fund transfers"...but it will still have the same effect...people will still want more and more! Good luck!!

My brother, there are certain steps you take forward and find that they are irreversible!Today our economies have interwoven into a cash-nexus, you cant do anything meaningful without bringing money into the equaton-you would completely be undiginified if you removed the concept of money from your life.Must I add that your idea of turning the clock of time to the days of bartter trade does not even start, because no one would buy it because Money rules the world today!

Well, since practically everything now should be bought and some cost a lot, we have no choice but to depend on money. Money practically holds our lives. Money helps us live. Medicines, food, clothes, everything! Money can buy ALMOST everything. Without money, we'd die (literally).
