I just received my latest child magazine in the mail. And to my surprise the front cover was an anouncement that Child Magazine will no longer be published. It went on to say that the issue I recieved would be my last and that if I still had issues remaining in my subscription I would recieve Parents magazine instead at no additional cost. Does anyone else receive Child Magazine? Have you recieved the same thing? This comes as a big shock to me. I am wondering why they are going to stop publishing the magazine. Does anyone know why? What are your thoughts on this?

Hmm...wow! I used to get Child Mag, but haven't in a while. That is wierd that they just stopped all of a sudden. I get Parenting and like it a lot, too. I haven't heard anything about Child Mag closing down.

I used to subscribe to Child magazine but once my oldest turned about 3 I quit. They just didn't seem like they had enough relavent articles for me anymore. They probably aren't getting enough readership to continue publishing is what I would suspect. Parents magazine has a much bigger readership.

I also subscribe to both Child and Parents magazines. Child magazine's print version will close but will continue online as part of a parenthood portal. It seems like the publisher is incorporating Child with its other magazines that are of a similar nature. They also publish Parents, Family Circle and American Baby. They will be letting go of some employees, mostly from Child. I would definitely miss the magazine. My toddler enjoys reading it with me, before he rips it apart. But I guess it would be more profitable for the publishers to do it this way.
