I don't think it matters if you were truly "cheated" as you gave from your heart. If you were cheated, then so be it.. you did right. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, I have given money to a homeless person. I've also been the homeless person someone else gave money to.
I have been kissed by a complete stranger. Normally I don't react well to such things, but there was one case where the stranger was just irresistable.
I have given my last dollar to someone else, more than once.
I have wondered where my next meal was coming from. See my first statement. I've been homeless before, and growing up even when I had a place to live, there was often no food. It makes it really hard to have a healthy relationship with food now, because some days I just want to eat and eat, because it's such a luxury to know I won't ever be starving again.

Thanks for the responses. I think sometimes these hard times in life help make us a better person. I'm glad things are looking up for you now and that you realize how lucky you are!

I'm not sure if it means it's wonderful but it definitely means you know and have learned to appreciate the good times in life.

Wow—answering this I feel pretty fortunate- I haven’t even been in contact with a beggar or bum to give them money. Nope- I don’t accept kisses from strangers! I’ve given my last dollar to a friend many times- I always have more in the bank- I often wonder where my next meal will come from- But not in the money sense- In the I’m at work and not sure where I will order from. So I am very fortunate! And I’m thankful!

As long as you realize your good fortune there's no reason to experience bad. Sometimes people have no clue how lucky they are.

Yes to all of the above. I think I'll expand on the kissed by a stranger. To pay the bills I am an ultrasound tech (I scan hearts). Occasionally to thank me a patient or family member will hug or lay one on me. It is a nice gesture from someone I have barely met.

I have given money to a homeless person, I used to live in downtown Philadelphia and there was always homeless people walking around asking for money, if they looked harmless I would give them a couple of dollars, but not everyday or not everyone. I have never been kissed by a complete stranger that I can remember. I have given my last dollar many times over, mostly to my children, when they clean out my wallet. And yes, when I was struggling to take care of my children and not getting child support, many times I wondered where my next meal would come from, thank goodness I survived.
