you hope your children will learn before they leave home??
Do you think handcrafts and woodworking and gardening could be included as a life skill??
Or just the basics good manners, read well, balance a check book, keep a clean house, be able to cook something, and be able to get and keep a job.
Or should more be required??
Also do you have a difference of opinion of what should be lifeskills for your sons than for your daughters. Or do you believe they should both know the same things.

I think children should be well rounded. I think they should have many skills. I think boys and girls should be able to do the same skills, but not everyone is good at everything. The effort is what counts, and being able to do these skills to the best of ones ability. Children should be given a chance to learn as many skills as possible before leaving home, so they are prepared, and they will most likly learn many more after leaving home.

Life skills cover a lot of different areas. I hope that my grandkids learn how to cope in everyday life by accepting people for who they are not what they have. I hope they learn how to have listening skills when talking to others. I hope for my grandkids to know everyday things like taking care of their home--doing dishes, vacuuming, all the things that this entails. They need to know how to balance a checkbook--this is a big life skill that I hope they have. I think both sons and daughters should have the same life skill knowledge. My aunt believed that boys should not have to do house work. When you think about it not all boys get married. I think every boy should know how to keep a house clean. I think that handcrafts, woodworking, and gardening should be included in the life skills but the other life skills in my book are more of a priority.
