I go on vacation for a week and come home to a whole lot of crap that went on at my kids school...In one week there were not only 3 bomb threats BUT ALSO this which has me LIVID

I'm sorry but IMO, she should NOT still be teaching! She should be on suspension until this is resolved and I think that being evasive with the parents is really a BAD idea (which is exactly what the school is doing and now that the news got hold of the story they are back paddling something awful)...I also will be raising a stink if she isnt punished in some form or another because bottomline, what the hell is she doin lending out her phone to a teenaged student KNOWING there is p0rn on it (especially considering teens today are very cell phone handy) AND bringing p0rn pics of herself to school in the first damn place!
both my husband and I along with some other parents are quite ticked about the way this is being handled I have to admit....
if it were your child's school/teacher, what do you think would be the best approach for the board to be handling this?

In the words of Donald Trump, "You're Fired!"
Teacher's are supposed to be mentor's. Someone who guides the children, teaches them the fundamentals of academics and readies them for further education.
We, as parents, count on them and trust them and so do the children.... I would be ticked, to say the very least!
What is this World coming to? A teacher should be paid more and screened better when they are in this important position.

I am also wondering why the children are suspended (being punished) but she isn't??? They were HER photos on HER phone and she is taking no responsibility??? WTF? It's not like they stole the phone from her... even if they had stolen it, she should not have had that type of sexualy explicit material on the school grounds to begin with.
What's with this: In the letter, parents were asked to "...delete the items... and mitigate the embarrassment."
They're saying, "Please get rid of any evidence and help us to lessen the embarrassement" Which sounds to me like they are trying to hide it, deny it or at least pretend it's not as awful as we can plainly see that it is! That's sad and pathetic!

That is a good point about them trying to delete and cover up what's going on here. I hadn't thought of that.

The punishment she shoul receive is not fired , because if she gets fired she can easily change city and get another job and she can again adulturate the soft minds of kids posing as a teacher , what i suggest is to mark her in such a way that she can never get another job as a teacher , not there , not anywhere.

OMG!! I agree they should have suspended the teacher while they are going about their 'investigation'.
IMO she shares the same responsibility if not more over this than the kids who spread the pictures around! So why should the students get suspended and not the teacher?!
Of course that's what the students would do!
Like you I just don't understand why she would lend that phone out to her students if she knew those pictures where on her phone - unless that's what she wanted. To show them to the student. That's just crazy!
I can sort of understand their evasiveness but it is all going to come out eventually.
You'll have to let us know who this turns out.

Just like you I would be livid. How come the teacher is still at work? She should have been suspended as well. I would be at the school demanding answers as to why she was still teaching and what the school plans to do to prevent somthing like this from happening again.

A teacher should set a good example to the children that they teach. This obviously does not feel that she should be a good role model. While I agree that she should be allowed to do anything she wants outside of work she should never had brought those kind of photos to the school.
As for the way that the school handles these kinds of situations is because their lawyers tell them to keep their mouths shut. They are afraid of being sued. While I do believe that the schools lawyer should keep parents informed it is hard for them to do so because their first prioity is to keep the school out of a court case.
