Do You and Your Spouse Go Anywhere Special For Your Anniversary?

My Husband Steve and his mother Alyce - This was taken at Amanda's birthday party. She had just gotten her digital camera and was trying it out. Steve's mother is very sweet and I'm very thankful to have her as a mother-in-law. She has always treated me like a daughter instead of a daughter-in-law.

Every year for our anniversary I pick out a nice hotel and book a room for my husband and I to celebrate. Sometimes it is the same place but I usually try to find a different one each year. One of our favorite places to go, though, is a Bed and Breakfast Inn in Florence, Alabama which is actually down the street from the Post Office where my husband works. There are about five rooms in this house that they rent out as a bed and breakfast. Each room is decorated differently. The first time that we stayed there we stayed in the "Blue Room". It was really nice but it was a little bit small. The other times we have stayed there we have stayed in the "Rose Room". It is decorated very similar to the movie "Gone With the Wind". It also has a little sitting room attached where you can sit out there in the morning and drink coffee. However, our anniversary is in December so it is usually too cold to sit out there, Ha! Ha! But it is really a nice place. My mother-in-law always wants Amanda and Stuart to spend the night with her even though Amanda is 20 and would be very capable of taking care of Stuart at home by themselves. But I'll admit it makes me feel better knowing they are with someone.

We usually go to a nice restaurant, spend some couple time together, relax and unwind We try to avoid talking about bills or work, just concentrate on us

There you go, I feel that is very important in a marriage.

My partner and I often will just go out to eat at our favorite restaraunt for our anniversary. We often just take our children with us to help celebrate. The hotel idea sounds like it would be something nice to do. I personally only stay in a motel room when we visit my moms family in Kentucky. I just don't feel comfortable in a hotel setting.

As long as you are doing what makes you happy that is what is important. Being with your mate is the main thing.
