How to adopt a child from an international orphanage?

How does Angelina Jolie do it? I'm from Canada and they make it seem SO difficult to adopt a child internationally. It takes 2 years! It costs up to 40,000$! Why can't I just get a homestudy done and then take it with me when I travel to Romania lets say, volunteer in an orphanage for a month and then take home and adopt a child or 2. What is the first step? If you really know, please help, thanks

Call around, I'm sure there are ways to get this done in a fast legal manner. The only reason Angelina Jolie can get it done fast, is because she is a actress and they know for a fact she has the money and will take care of the child. If she does anything wrong it will be in the papers before she can even blink. :) If you want to adopt, go for it. I'm sure you will make a great parent, and even though it might take a while. It's wroth it at the end!

I think there must be a social service provided in your country for your people. Therefore you can approach them and find out the details and procedures about the adoption. You may also search the adoption issue from Yahoo Search engine that may give you some information. Good luck!
